Agreed, a little humility goes a long way.
It would be amusing if Hal Leonard uses Dorico now to engrave fake books. ![]()
Which of course begs the question, that although @woocaash you have made a considerable investment in Dorico, and although you can do what you need to a large extent as others have pointed out, if you must have absolute total identity with Hal Leonard why don’t you use what tool they do, be it Finale, or Sibelius, or perhaps a pen?
I think Hal Leonard is sick of hearing about Hal Leonard in this thread.
“ the atmosphere is not what I expected” (?) I will say no more.
I made a tons of lead sheets with Finale and a lot with Dorico in the las years. I also like handwriting style, because I feel good for the eyes….
But I really don’t understand why must be a lead sheet 100% exactly look like Hal Leonard Real Book….
Hi fellow Dorico users ans abusers ![]()
This thread really was fun to read! The good the bad and the ugly from internet all in one place.
Well yes, hard work isn’t always that sexy to everyone!!!
I thought it would be a good idea to share this youtube video (frech) about the story behind the « RealBook »
I hope you enjoy!
I’m so curious, would be nice to get a subtitle in English!
I never thinking Real Books as an authentic source for jazz, just a good instant starting point…
I like the video (that French pianist is both a great teacher and a great performer), and the first time I heard the story, it was in English so you might find it directly in that language!
Here?
Awesome! Forwarded it directly to my guitarist kid… so he has something to read up on during vacation time…
Thx Marc!
