Creating MIDI Global Parameter Control messages

I’m using Cubase Elements 7 with a Roland XV3080 sound module in General MIDI Level 2 mode. I want to use Global Parameter Controls such as Reverb Parameters. I create a SysEx string on a Cubase track, but it has no effect. For example, to control reverb type, I create the string F0 7F 7F 04 05 01 01 01 01 01 00 02 F7 to use reverb type Large Room.

Everything else is working fine. What might I be getting wrong?

Hi, I am using Cubase, so there might be a difference, but:

Maybe you have filters enabled in the program preferences (midi)?
