Creating One Staff with multiple instruments

I’m fairly new to Dorico and I’ve scoured the net for the help I need with no luck. In short, I’d like to have a string section that can play arco, pizz. tremolo, trills etc. using the different instrument settings in BBC SO. The result being I’d like to switch mid-staff from legato to pizz., then later maybe switch to tremolo. 1. Is this possible? 2. If it is, how does one indicate on the staff where to initiate the change?

Hi.
Usually, you simply write music just as it usually appears on a score, and providing you’re using a library with a proper expression map, Dorico will change the techniques of the library automatically.
Use playing techniques (arco, pizz) or the usual strokes for tremolo (shift-r, 3)
