I’m still struggling with dynamics on tied notes.
Is there a way to tell Dorico, that the dynamic symbol after the crescendo hairpin has to end on the last note of two tied notes, when there are further notes immediately after the second tied note?
When I use the popover-input on the tied note and enter “o<mp” then the mp lands on the following note. I have to drag the mp back to the last note of the tied note.
Is there a way to change that iin the preferences?
You can enter the dynamics in Note input mode. Activate the caret on beat 1, press Shift+, (so the < sign), and with a sixteenth note value selected press space a couple of times until you reach the final sixteenth. Then enter the mp with the popover.
Please don’t drag.
I highly recommend to assign both SHIFTALT/OPTION ← / → key combinations to easy-to-reach single-key shortcuts. I’m using F16 / F17 on the extended keyboard. Those shortcuts can be applied in many environments and save a bunch of time.
Then just press the shortening key once to adjust the dynamic.
