I really appreciate the sleuthing! As an 8-string guitarist I had to create a circled 7 and 8 to indicate when those extra bass strings are called for. So did you use a plain text editor to delete those?

I take that back. I just tried chaconne again after restarting the iPad and it imported ok.
Yes. On my Mac I used TextEdit. If you’re on Windows, there will be equivalent applications. If you use a “proper” word processor such as Microsoft Word, make you sure you save as text only, otherwise there will be all sorts of page formatting added.
