I have four players, each with two braced staves representing the left and right hands. Some notes need to cross between different players’ staves. Is there any way to achieve this?
I have already tried creating percussion kits, but cross-staff notation is not possible between different kits. Does anyone have any ideas?
Graphically speaking, it’s possible by using one single instrument with added staves (here a marimba with invisible clefs) [or by using four grand-staff instruments held by the same player, see below]
Alternatively, if playback matters, you could try to create one single kit, display it as a grid and set the gaps so it simulates 5-line staves:
But then I’m not sure there’s an easy way to get the braces as they appear in your manuscript…
And in both cases I’m afraid it won’t be possible to create separate part layouts for the players!
