Crossgrade has to work for Users with Cubase Pro 15. It works fine in combination with Nuendo 14 on the same PC! And the higher Investment for Upgrading from 14 to 15 is also a Argument!
This general issue is already kind of discussed by @TimoWildenhain here:
Please scroll down to see the discussion of this crossgrade situation. Timo already talks about it, and while his answer may not be satisfactory to you (or anyone else), the end result is that the crossgrade from Cubase Pro 15 will be available when Nuendo 15 launches. Which should be pretty soon, probably about two weeks from now. My humble suggestion is just to be patient and you’ll have a crossgrade option when Nuendo 15 launches.
And BTW, yes, I agree the system should handle this better. Perhaps Steinberg realizes this too and maybe they will do something about it. For now, the solution is to wait until Nuendo 15 is released. Cheers!
I have already payed the 315€ for the Crossgrade
Ahhh, then perhaps @TimoWildenhain can get you refunded quickly. You need to start over from what I understand. And YES, I agree the way it’s laid out on the site is not clear enough, and thus causing some confusion. Steinberg could do a better job clarifying. But in the meantime, I’m certain Steinberg will get you refunded so you can start over with the crossgrade process when Nuendo 15 is launced. I don’t speak for them, but they are fair-minded people in my experience.
Thanks
Personally I don’t think this post should be deleted – it’s a good example of the confusion, and Steinberg needs to make some improvements IMO. Plus other people might find this thread and also voice support for more clarity. And anyone else frustrated can see how to handle this right now. Just my opinion.
And BTW, your thread title, “Crossgrade illogical” is perfectly good! Because in the sense you demonstrate, the crossgrade is indeed illogical, at least the lack of clarity IMO! Cheers!
A Supporter have Responded with a refund. I left this for Discuss / Information.
