Crosshairs When Selected - bug?

Lately I noticed something odd regarding crosshairs in Engrave mode. As always, I searched the forum if this was reported before but apart from some older topics that seemed obsolete, I couldn’t find anything.

According to my settings, crosshairs should show both when selecting and when dragging items:

However, this does not work for all items and I can’t figure out why.

For tempo marks, dynamics, playing techniques, rehearsal marks, staff text and repeat marks, the crosshairs show on selection as per my settings. However, for system text they only show when I move the item. For cue labels, they don’t show at all.

I ran into this when I was positioning section headers (stuff like “Intro”, “Verse 1” etc., added as system text). There may be other items for which the crosshair behavior deviates from settings, but I guess the gif above gets the point across.

So… is this a bug? I’m kind of a stickler for alignment/positioning and even though the amount of manual positioning is, thankfully, limited in Dorico, the amount of eyeballing that is involved in the situations where you do have to manually position items is far from ideal. The lack of guides or a grid also doesn’t help, so I’m really hoping this is a bug rather than design. Hoping that any of the developers could shed light on this! Thanks in advance!
