I think you are mixing things here. Please read the whole topic. The problem was solved and had nothing to do with my system. It was a preference while which probably got corrupted after updating to 10.5.10, as other users reported the same issue.
that should be even standard practise before posting a"bug’:
1.Boot Safe mode (shift + crtl+ alt) if that solves the problem, purge prefs
2.load “bios optimized defaults” when it’s not in the prefs.
These 2 things solve 90% of the user problems.
In your case it was the prefs, but other issues might be down to OCíng
