I am moving Cubase to a brand new Imac.
My existing Imac has Cubase 10.5 running on an OS ( and using a dongle) that cannot be upgraded because of the age of my IMac. I checked this with Apple. Hence the new machine purchase.
If life was simple, I would move 10.5 to my new machine and simply upgrade it. But new IMacs will not run 10.5.
Can anyone give me a step by step guide of how to get 14 on my new machine using an update 10.5 to 14 whilst using my existing license.?
Hi,
- Buy correct update.
- Plug USB-eLicenser into the new iMac.
- Activate your upgrade license (on the new iMac).
- Install Cubase 14
- Enjoy Cubase 14.
Thank you. How would I then make it work when the e- licenser is no longer supported?
The eLicenser is not required anymore since Cubase 12, so after you have updated your license the USB Stick can be removed.
Cubase 14 will then get the license via the Activation Manager.
Hi,
When the eLicenser is switched off (in 2025), you cannot update/upgrade from eLicenser-based licenses anymore, as it is written here.
