Cubase 10 Volume Automation Behavior

I’m hoping someone can help me with this…I just upgraded from 8.5 to 10 and one thing I’ve noticed is the volume automation editing behavior has changed.

In 8.5, if you selected multiple data points, clicked anywhere in the selected area, and dragged up/down, all points would increase/decrease, and unselected points attached to your first/last data point would curve accordingly.

In 10, doing this creates two NEW data points at the start/end of your selection without creating a curve.

The only way to get a curve to be created is to select one of the data points, then drag.

Is there any way to switch the two so that I can select the blank area to create the curve, as before? Or do I always have to select a single point going forward?

Hi and welcome,

Yes, I can confirm, Cubase 10 behaves like this by purpose. You cannot change this as far as I know.
