Cubase 11.0.41 freezing during file save

Since the 11.0.41 Update Cubase started freezing during auto-saves.
I deactivated backups but it’s also happening when I save the project manually.
This does not always happen, but when it does Cubase doesnt respond for several minutes.
Afterwards, the saved file has a bit less than half the size it should have.
When I try to open the saved file, I get an error message saying the file had been created using Cubase 1.x and it can’t be loaded with this program version.

It’s a big session with an entire EP in it, so it loads pretty long and these crashes are completely taking me out of the creative zone… I think I’ll have to try uninstalling the .41 upgrade…

No, It’s 23.3 MB at the moment.

where would I find it? I looked under Documents/Steinberg/CrashDumps and didn’t find any there, only from older versions. The thing is Cubase doesn’t crash, it only freezes for a long time and I usually kill it in the task manager after a while…
EDIT: sorry, I did not enable the log… I’ll upload it once it occurs the next time.

I know this is a super old thread, but did you ever find a resolution for this issue? Having the same one.
You don’t happen to be running Cubase 11 on MacOS Monterey are you?

Hi, no I was running Cubase 11 on Windows 10. If I remember correctly think I had a look at the log files and identified some plugins that were the reason for the crash so I removed them from the project. Pretty sure I reinstalled everything too and updated some plugin versions to more current versions etc. I don’t really remember what finally solved the issue sorry…

I appreciate the reply. Going to do something similar - it seems to have happened from doing an OS update, so I assume a plugin or something is having a conflict.
