Cubase 11 elements crashes using Editor in the Lower Zone

I’ve just installed Cubase 11 Elements. After I add a track in the Project Zone and click on the ‘Editor’ tab in the Lower Zone, Cubase 11 freezes - every time. Is there something that I can do to stop this from happening?

Try resetting the perferences…
or try safe mode.

Cubase restarts in safe mode after it crashes but it then crashes again in safe mode when I try to use the Editor tab. This is a new installation so the preferences haven’t been changed. I’m using Windows 10 and the PC exceeds the minimum requirements for Cubase.
