I would like a Cubase 12 update to something like 12.1. And I would even pay for it.
Hi,
Then go for Cubase 13.
What would you expect from 12.1?
I don’t like the GUI of Cubase 13. It’s like I have to learn how to use a new DAW. So both the look and the functionality is not something I like.
From a 12.1 version, just more stability and some more midi functionality with Quick tracks. In general I really like Cubase 12. Maybe I’m a bit more conservative when it comes to the look.
Hi,
There are no Quick tracks in Cubase.
If you want to go forward, Cubase 13 is available. If you want to stay, stay with Cubase 12.
I meant Quick Controls.
If the GUI is not changed back in upcoming versions I will probably stay on Cubase 12 forever.
I’m not aware of any newer functions for Quick Controls.
But I will assure you, the GUI is an evolution from a basic IMO “not looking good” to a “yeah looking better.” Also I think there is a “getting used to” factor. Anyway, I think patience is your best bet regarding GUI.
for me v12.0.70 was a great version. really stable and working great. I loved how it looked. I had decided I wouldn’t upgrade to v13 until 1 year after launch because Steinberg had failed on the launch (stability-wise) of the 2 last major versions. I couldn’t help myself or stay true to my word and updated to v13 after 4 hours of release same thing again, Cubase 13 was unusable and I hated Cubase 13 and myself for never learning
Time has passed, v13 is getting there after some major let downs, I am getting used to the GUI and several things are improved in my mind over v12. so if you are looking to explore go get v13, if you are just recording yourself no need to update. The only update to Cubase 12 is called Cubase 13 (unless there is some emergency stability fix needed)
I would like Apple to update GS OS but ya know, somehow I don’t think they’re going to go back and do that with an EOL product.
