I shouldn’t have mentioned anything about spectral, I only found that it quit Cubase 11 by chance, let’s talk about cubase12, with or without spectral it starts to open I get the safemode message where I can choose what I want to do with the preference, regardless of what option I choose it then continues with the load, I get the small Cubase 12 black sign as it is loading the various parts, then the screen to choose the driver, without doing anything Cubase 12 quits, I can give you screenshots when I get back if that would help, except the driver option, that’s goes too fast. I’ll do whatever helps you. I can only imagine how difficult it must be clearing faults remotely.
I’ll reinstall spectral for Cubase 12, then open cubase12, when if quits, I’ll attach the file if that would help you Martin

just prior to me sending, I reinstalled Spectral in Cubase 12 then opened as soon as it quit I then compiled the reply added the files and sent it, at a guess 17.40pm ish

When did it crash, please? During the start our did you add the Audio Track, Audio Event and tried to add the Extension?
You are messing multiple descriptions and cases. So it’s hard to get oriented in it.
Cubase 12 quits after it goes passed the safe mode page where the preference is you can make a choice, then it moves on to loading, then it offers which driver to choose, then quickly quits before you can make a choice either the internal audio, or the UR22 mk11 , it never gets any further, not to the hub, that’s all I can tell you I haven’t chosen a .cpr to add a audio track to Cubase 12 is closed.

OK, now I know, the crash comes after the “new hardware found” dialog. But the crash is not caused by the hardware, it’s caused by the dialog.
Could you try to delete all Cubase preferences folders, please? Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
In your case: Cubase 11, Cubase 12, even if you have Cubase 10.5, Cubase 10…

Before Idid this I did delete the preference folder , I tried renaming without success, I don’t know the order that I should reinstall, the Cubase_12.0.52 installer first then the activation etc? please advise what my next step is, and why is there two tech guys dealing with the same problem?

If you install Cubase again, you don’t have to activate it again.
If you want to get clean version:
- Delete Cubase 12.app from the Applications folder.
- Delete Cubase 12, Cubase 11, Cubase 10.5… preferences folders.
- Install Cubase 12.
- Start Cubase 12.
Hi Martin, I will Delete 11 Preference File, 12 Is already Of the system, should I start with the Cubase 12 installer .dmg then go through the vast’s, then library manager, then all the FCP files, then activation manager, will that work?
one more question, when I sign into my Steinberg, I use my username, and password, then I have to enter one of the remaing one time Authenticactivation codes that Steinberg sent me via email what happens when Ive used the 6 codes, how can I get into My Steinberg?

You don’t have to install the libraries again.
I have uninstalled 12,so if I run the installer .dmg the groove agent SE etc will be installed.
before I install ill delete 11’s Preference folder, fingers crossed it all come back
Hi Martin, In the preferences I have deleted 11 &12, there is also Halion, groove agent, retrologue, etc, should I delete all those as well, or should I leave those, as soon as I know ill reinstall 12.
Hi Martin, although I have deleted 12 from my applications folder, and the preferences, I still have installed all the VST’s
11 is still installed, I don’t really want to uninstall that as I can’t work if 12 quits, I don’t have any confidence in 12 yet

Martin, if I remove Cubase11 will I be able to reinstall if all else fails and I have to give up on Cubase12, I can download Cubase 11 again the reinstall, can you find out for me, what a have to do when my one time only codes have been used, to log into My Steinberg now they have introduced a two stage log in please

Please try the following:
Rename the folder /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Components/ to /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Components_Off/
Then start Cubase 12 and check if it works.
