Hi all, will try to be concise.
I purchased a music laptop from company (Carillon) with Cubase 12 Artist installed by them about 2 years ago, all worked fine.
Have been thinking of upgrading to Cubase 14 Pro, so I wanted to sign in to the Steinberg Activation Manager as I did not have a MySteinberg account and my license was installed offline by the company, not sure why.
After signing in and creating an account, I now have no license showing in SAM, nor MySteinberg and cannot use Cubase. There is a soft eLicenser number in the eLicenser manager with no licenses associated with it, but not sure this is relevant after SAM.
Did trawl the forums but nothing seems to pop up.
Any Help guys? Also if any Steinbergians are reading, my ticket number is ticket ID# 682059
Thanks for your help in advance,
Dan
It is not possible for a license to be activated without being logged into an account. Are you certain about how this happened?
If they really did activate the license, it is Carillon you must contact, or figure out the credentials for the account the license is associated with.
Thank you for your speedy reply Steve. I will get on to Carillon.
Hi all. So turns out all I needed to do was sign in to the Steinberg account with the email and password that Carillon had sent me by email, and not my usual email address. I still can’t find that email they sent but it is now sorted. Thanks for the reply and help.
You should probably ask Steinberg to delete the other account (or merge them if you have anything in that one) and update the details to your own email address.
definitely
I would love to have everything on one account, but seeing as I still haven’t had a direct reply to my ticket yet, I’m not sure how long that will take. I think I can change the email address in my account settings anyway but will have a look. Have successfully upgraded to Cubase 14 Pro, I know how to log in and find my Licenses, and I am happy for now!
