Cubase 12 Editing events in a part - Problem with changes from old Cubase 6

Hi there,

I was used, until I upgraded to C12, to edit vocals in a part. Cut & mute, the lowest (bottom of the stack) unmuted edit was sounding ,and everything was a charm to work with. Even with 40 takes and dozens portions.
Now I’m drowning and I didn’t find on the manual why the heck the lowest event is always “blocking” the others, even if it is muted…

I have no clue. Thank in advance :slight_smile:

Are you are talking about the track lanes of Audio Track, please?

There is a section in the manual called Assembling a Perfect Take which explains in detail how this works.

This part of Cubase received some drastic changes between version 6 and 12. Once you get used to the new style it should make things easier than before.
Kindly follow raino’s advice regarding a read of the manual. Additionally I am sure there are videos to be found on YouTube that will explain it. Your searchword is “comping”
