Cubase 12 Effects Not Printing on Individual Song Tracks

I’m using Cubase 12 Pro and have a project with 12 tracks of individual songs each. One song on each track. I have many effects on the Master Bus. When I export an individual mono track, the effects don’t print.

In the same project, I have two separate tracks for one song only, and when I export ‘interleaved’, the effects print just fine.

I’ve made sure that I have the correct boxes ticked in the Export panel.

I thought it might be the space on my hard drive, so I deleted many, many unneeded files, and I’m still having the same problem.

Any help gets a big thanks from me.

Thanks,
George

If the FX are on the Master and not on the individual track, they won’t be on the individual track when exporting.

This is not QUITE the full truth (I hope what I write applies to C12 as well):

I do it the following way, in the Export Dialogue:

  1. Select the track you want to export
  2. Select the “Multiple” option (this is curcial, even though you only export ONE single track)
  3. Select the Effects option “+ Master/Group/Sends”(this option is only available for selection when you chose the “Multiple” option, even though only having a single track selected)

Of course the Locators have to be set appropriately.

Hope that helps in Cubase 12 as well.

Cheers, Ernst

See my post

Ernst,

Hmmm… but that will write FX to the single track you’re exporting? I would think it would write a separate track with that info.

I don’t use it much so I’m just thinking…

Hi You,

I use it a lot - recently - using Cubase 15 - that is why I am not certain whether it was the same in Cubase 12.

To your thought: It will only export the single track but including all effects that are inserted in the complete signal-path from the channel through any groups up to the output chanel.

What is important: You really only select the single track to export and above that selection list there is this “multiple” button. THIS has to be engaged (and NOT a checkmark on the output bus - since THIS would lead to two tracks being exported).

I discovered this after some frustration, because the option “+Master/Group/Sends” was “greyed out” when the button “single” instead of “Multiple” was selected.

Best regards, Ernst

Well, that’s pretty cool. I learned something new today!

It is kind of amazing what they manage to do…

Hi George,

maybe my reply helps!

All the best, Ernst

YES, thank you for that information and for your time. It helped a lot and I seem to be able to print the effects like I want.

Thanks for your reply. You reply really helped.

Happy to help!

We happened to have the same issue and by chance I found out how to do it.

Have fun making music

Ernst
