Cubase 12 Freezing when opened

Can anyone help me with this problem?

My laptop has recently had to have Windows reinstalled. Now I cant open an old project without it freezing! It freezes when missing plug ins are shown and also when missing sound card ins and outs are missing. The only thing I can do is end the task in Task Manager.

This has never happened before in 20+ years of using Cubase. Any Ideas?

Look around the forum. A lot of people have the same problem, including myself; and apparently there are no easy solutions. Steinberg tried solve it on my computer, but it only worked ½ day, then the problem came back - and then came XMas. Hopefully they will come back to me early January with more tries.
