Cubase 12 MIDI Remote changes device settings

Hi.
I don’t think this should be allowed, and I hope it can be fixed with an update (I already know how to deal with this manually).
Cubase 12 script for Arturia Minilab 2 changes my device settings for pad lights, turning them off permanently.
This should not be a thing. My personal settings have nothing to do with the behavior of the controller. Some people like them off, some on.

Can it be fixed officially?

Bug report?

1.- Have Minilab 2 plugged to your computer via USB with the pad lights permanently on.
2.- Open Cubase 12 and a project. As soon as your device is detected, lights will go off.
3.- Close Cubase 12 to realize the internal device settings have been changed, having to change them manually from the Arturia software each time.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Once you start Cubase 12, the script sends out the SysEx data to the Arturia Minilab 2, which sets it up for the MIDI Remote. This overwrites previous Minilab settings. But Cubase also doesn’t capture previous settings, so it doesn’t send SysEx message while quit, to “clean up” and set the Minilab back to your original settings.

But the settings Cubase makes, is not stored in the device at all. It’s just a temporary settings. So if you switch the device Off and On, you are back with your original settings.

That’s what happens.

Hi, Martin.
Thank you. I understand why it happens, but it should not happen.

Thanks.
