Cubase 13.0.20 Enter Project Cursor Position Bug Temporary Fix

This bug extends to any command where you were able to previously type in the text entry, with the correct textbox already highlighted and text cursor focused.

  • Enter cursor position
  • Enter left & right locator position
  • Enter locator duration
  • Create cycle marker (used to be able to type the name straight away)
  • etc.

You can change the language in the upper right corner. It was just displayed in german, because my account is set to that language. I edited my post so if you click on it, it should be displayed in english.

Hi,

This is going to be fixed in the next update.

Great to hear - thank you Martin!

When will that be?

Hi,

I’m sorry, no one is allowed to provide this kind of information.

Can confirm also have the same problem.

Hi,

Every user has the same issue. This is a global bug.

Here’s a macro I created as a temporary fix (see screenshot). It seems this bug only happens when you’re within the main project window. If you’re in an editor it (surprisingly) still works.

This version has so many glitches for me and this being the biggest one!
How the heck do they make these mistakes? It’s pathetic.
Can’t seem to find any info how to rollback to the previous version. I’ve been writing to Steinberg and getting no reply.

Just found this thread as I can confirm the same bug.

Think I’m right in saying that you can press Left (or ‘L’) twice and that will select the whole field in the transport bar. So I can push L,L,5,return and that will place the Left Locator at 5.1.1.0… same with ‘Right’…

Yes - thank you. I’ve verified that this workaround also works for setting the cursor position with Shift-P. I.e., Shift-P, Shift-P, 5, return will put you in bar 5. I can’t verify if it works with num-. because I’ve already implemented @bender_the_offender 's workaround and assigned the macro to num-. (which works seamlessly, so it’s worth figuring out how to write the Macro).

Is 30+ days not enough time to fix such a regression?

Not fixed in .21 then…

Hi,

No. It was just a hotfix with one dedicated fix.

Ok, I certainly look forward to this being sorted. Thanks for replying.

I am still experiencing this “Enter Cursor Position” bug in Cubase 15.0.30. It happens to me probably 7 out of 10 times I trigger the key command. Additionally, my workaround I posted above no longer works, so I’m curious if anyone else can test this:

When I make “Enter Project Cursor Position” a key command directly (not a macro), it performs properly but still does not always go to the exact bar location. When I try to create a macro that includes “Enter Project Cursor Position”, the command does not highlight and allow you to punch in the bar number in the Time Display. Even if I create a macro with “Enter Project Cursor Position” as the only command in the macro, it does not work at all.

I tested this in Cubase 15 on multiple Macs, using multiple QWERTY keyboards, and it doesn’t work in Cubase 14 (latest version). Can anyone confirm this?

My specs are: Macbook Pro 2026 & Mac Studio 2023, both running MacOS 26.6.1, Cubase 15.0.30 & 14.0.41
