Cubase 13.0.41 "Checking licenses" taking 40+% CPU

The newest Cubase brings an old, annoying bug back: It is “checking licenses” continously while Cubase is in use, and for heavy projects, that is a disastrous perfomance hit. Even when idle, this process takes around 40 % CPU, and if playing a large orchestral project (with lots of EW Opus instruments + HALion etc,), it now is complete torture to use.

I had this before, when I discovered that a faulty dongle was causing problem. I have since got rid of the dongle, but now it’s just as bad again.

It’s supposed to check licenses and finish checking licenses, right?

Is there anything I can do?

Cubase is checking its licence at the beginning of the session.

Can you provide a screenshot of the “checking licences”?
