Cubase 13.0.41: my projects are getting corrupted

For example, I have a PSP Xenon and Weiss DS-1 mk3 plugin on my master buss that cannot be disabled, enabled, removed, ANYTHING.

Then I find this same problem is affecting multiple other channels with various different plugins. And it’s crashing constantly on exit and sometimes on load.

How likely is it that this could have been caused by what I’m strongly suspecting is a bad i9-13900K from Intel?

This is just going from bad to worse. This has been by far the most difficult year or so I’ve had getting projects out the door. It’s a constant battle with this software and this machine.

Hi,

Did you really try to disable/enable it, or did you Bypass it? Could you attach a screenshot of the MixConsole, please?

There are indeed reports of issues with Intel’s i9-13900K, for example here:

Intel Core i9-13900K crashing

Nevertheless, faulty RAM components or hard disks/SSDs can be the reason for storage errors, too, even undersized power supplies. In this context, it’s interesting to know whether there are also indications of incorrect storing outside of Cubase (OS, other applications).

I recently encountered an issue where I couldn’t do anything with certain plugins while others were fine. It turned out I’d forgotten I’d enabled the button that disables all plugins that add latency – most mastering plugins like Xenon would definitely be doing that, but other plugins can, as well – due to having done some vocal tracking in my previous session. Turning that back off resolved the problem.

The crashing on exit and load is another thing, though. I’ve seen some crashing or hanging on loading with a combination of two Waves plugins (Clarity Vx DeReverb followed by Clarity Vx) that were active in tracks. I spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot this with Waves support, but the bottom line was they said it was specific to my system, and I was spending too much time jumping through hoops, so I gave up and just work around it. (Haven’t actually tried it again with Waves 15 to see if that might have magically fixed the problem.)

For any crashes, analyzing the DMP file can give an idea of what is involved. It could be a plugin, for example, and knowing which can help troubleshoot.
