Cubase 13.0.50 Build 318 records only one channel on the stereo audio track

Hello,
I would like to report finding a bug related to Cubase 13.0.50 Build 318 (Intel) on macOS Sequoia 15.1 (Intel version).
It only records the right channel on the stereo audio track.
I tested this on Zoom U-24 and Steinberg UR22C sound cards with the following software:
Cubase 13.0.50 Build 318 (Intel) - the above problem
Cubase 12.0.70 Build 464 (intel) - no problem
Ableton Live 12 Lite 12.1.1 - no problem
Audacity 3.7.0 - no problem

Thank you in advance for the solution!

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Attach a screenshot of the Audio Connections > Inputs from Cubase 12 and Cubase 13, please.

Hi,

This seems to be correct. Could you attach a screenshot of the MixConsole, where we can see the Input Stereo Out (to see if the signal comes on both channels), we can see the Inserts (to see if there is any plug-in), we can see the Audio Track and also the Routing tab, please?

Anyway,
what I record in Cubase 12, I can play back in 13, so the output routing works fine. The only problem is the input :frowning:

Hi,

There is barely any signal… But from this screenshot, we can see the signal is the same on both the Left and Right.

On this screenshot, I don’t see, where is the signal comming from. On the Input, there is no signal, so why is there a signal on the track?

What is different between the 1st and the 2nd case? Why there is a signal on both channels on the 1st screenshot?

Hi,
First is always Cubase 12, second 13.
I could enclose monitor input from both version, while input signal from sound card is incoming. Would it be useful?

Hi,

Oh, I see. This makes sense.

I don’t see any signal on the Stereo In in Cubase 13. Try to increase the source level, so we can see the Input signal meters, please.

I’m attaching a picture while recording in C12.
Everything is ok.

… and here is the same project in C13 with comments.
The results are the same whether I use Zoom U-24 or Steinberg UR22C sound cards.

Hi,

I would like to see the Input (not output), please.

Hi,
so, like this?
Sorry I can’t post more as a newbie  … 20 hours break …
However, the c13 image is the same except for the left channel, which is deaf in all meters

Hi,

Yes, please. This kind of screenshotfrom Cubase 13.

Which Channel? The Input Channel? Do you use any Insert on the Input Channel by any chance?

The input channel looked clean on the screenshots.

It would be nice to see a stronger input signal. It would also be nice to see the Cubase input bus channel and the mixer app from the audio interface displaying the input signal in the same picture.

Until you can post screenshots again, you can try to use Cubase with factory settings in regards to the preferences.
Do you know how to move/rename the preference folder so that Cubase will create factory settings?

Hi there,
tried the following procedure:
remove folder /Users/my-name/Library/Preferences/Application files/Cubase 13
Start C13, created empty project, add an audio track, check sound card setup (using Steinberg UR22C).
Nothing happened, everything lasts as I reported recently.

Then I started C13 with ++, chosing Delete program preferences option.
Nothing changed, all remains the same.

Cubase 12, Ableton, Audacity works with no problem at all (using Steinberg UR22C).

That is not where the application prefs are stored, they are actually located at
/Users/<user name>/Library/Preferences/<program name>/

Also, deleting preferences from the safe mode dialog doesn’t necessarily delete the input/output config, iirc. So,

  • Please create a new project without any tracks, and show us the meter for the Stereo Input in the mix console of Cubase 13. Cubase 12 screenshots aren’t needed.
