Hi, I’m having an issue with the Cubase 13 “Shift” and “Shift + Control” key command conflict on Mac.
Whenever I setup key command on both “Shift” and “Shift + Control”, The Shift + X command always override the other one. This particular happens on the the first row of the keyboard (means all numeric keys from ~, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8…etc.)
E.g. if:
Shift + 1 = Rewind
Shift + Control + 1 = Command Lane Setup 1
Whenever I preset Shift + Control + 1, it will always run the command mapped to Shift + 1 instead.
I am also unable to search the command using “Press/Key Search command” under Key command dialog, when I press these keys.
In Cubase 12 I used to able to do it. Is it a bug? Wondering anyone has the same issue? Thanks!
Please try starting Cubase with factory settings. Upon launch of Cubase hold down Cmd + Opt + Shift.
From the upcoming dialog select “disable program preferences”.
Hi,
Do you really mean Ctrl or Doo you mean Cmd? On Mac Ctrl is kind of special.
I just tested it. The problem remain in factory settings mode. I also found that if I remove the key with “Shift + key” only, the key command dialog would response to the key command "Shift + Control + key)
The control key next to the fn key on the left bottom corner of Mac keyboard
Hi,
Could you use Shift + Cmd instead of Shift + Ctrl, please? On Mac, Ctrl is not the same as it is on Windows and it behaves special. Equivalent to the Ctrl from Windows is the Cmd key on Mac.
The problem is that shift + command is already mapped to something else…
I think it is really a bug since Cubase 13. In cubase 12 it was totally fine. Since Steinberg renew the key command windows. Things are getting weird. Eg the key command for “search media bay” is no longer working. It was a really useful key. Now I have to move my mouse and click the search field to search for something in media bay. Also, when I test / map a key in the key command dialog, Cubase would run that command, this is quite annoying…
