Cubase 13 - Changing values with mouse wheel

I don’t understand what the point of the new preference is. There must be either a misunderstanding, or something is not working right (yet).

The way this preference is implemented right now, it serves only to take away a perfectly fine feature -using the mousewheel to change values, that is - but, it gives us nothing back in return.

Have a look here for example. The preference is disabled. And here’s what happens.

In green: If we use the scroll wheel, the channels scroll. Ok.
In red: If we use the scroll wheel there, the values are affected. (even though the preference is supposed to guard against this.)
In Yellow: If we use the scroll wheel here, neither do the channels scroll, nor can we change any values, since the preference actually works here.

Notice how vast the yellow area is. IF, and that’s a big if, the preference is supposed to give us the ability to scroll in this yellow area when we disable it, it could be a good trade off. But not like this. This just turns off a good feature.

Editing the post after having figured out the obvious: The new preference is supposed to handle only vertical scrolling, especially in the rack section, of both the mixconsole and the new Channel Tab. In the picture above, nothing happens in the yellow region because the racks all fit. If they didn’t fit, the preference would allow me to scroll vertically with absolute safety. No value in the racks section would be affected by the mousewheel. But it does nothing for the Fader Section of the mix console when scrolling horizontally.
