Cubase 13 Chord Pad plays multiple pads at once

Selecting a Chord Pad with the mouse will play multiple pad chords instead of just one. Customer support said that the .cpr project file became corrupted and to export to a new project. When I asked how to do this, I was referred to read the manual. Unfortunately I could not find anything on exporting an entire project or parts of it nor a way to import so called exported parts of my project. The project is loaded with audio and midi regions, time signatures, tempo maps and what not. There is not way to so called refresh a project that I can see.

However creating a new project, the Chord Pads will play as expected.

I’m very disapointed not only for my own woes but with cubase buggyness in general.
There are several posts on the topic of chord pad mal-function that report diferent issues.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

You can try:

  • File Back up Project…
  • Or you can Create a new project and File > Import > Tracks from Project…

May I add: before using the Backup function, please make sure to use the Media/Prepare Archive function first to include audio files that are not yet covered by the Backup functionality alone.
