Cubase 13: Convert to Real Copy Not Cooperating

Hello,

I am having some issues with Cubase 13. I often like to create duplicate tracks and delete the original audio to retain the vocal effects processing from the previous track without having to set it all manually for a new track. I have never had any issues with this before. I usually clear out the versions and audio on the duplicate. However, out of nowhere, this process started creating shared copies with the original track, meaning I can’t delete the audio on the new track without also deleting it from the original.

“Convert to Real Copy” is NOT working. It allows me to select and apply “Convert to Real Copy” once, but then it grays out the option without having any effect. When I select an event from the duplicate track, it still selects both the original and the duplicate simultaneously (even after applying Convert to Real Copy).

I don’t know whether it is related, but these issues began after I made and flattened an arranger track. Additionally, VariAudio has been applied. I would love and appreciate some advice on how to resolve this issue. Maybe I have stumbled upon a bug?

Thanks so much.

Edit: I went back and looked at previous versions of the project, and noticed I was having issues before flattening the arranger chain, but after I applied VariAudio - still not certain that VariAudio is the problem, I definitely have never experienced that. I am currently trying to replicate this bug (if it is a bug).

Because Shared/Real Copy is only for MIDI not Audio.

Most likely you have accidentally Grouped the 2 Audio Events together.

Glad you got it resolved!
