Cubase 13 Crashes During Export

check for *.bak files in the project folder, if there´s backup created

Yes, I have a *.bak file, but the project is still incomplete.

@Armand

Do you know maybe, when will there be an update to fix these terrible bugs?

Hi,

I’m not Armand, but no one is allowed to make this kind of anouncement before the official release. Sorry.

Hi,

Could I ask for some more details, please?

  • Could you describe what are you exporting (Audio tracks; Instrument Tracks; MIDI Tracks in Real Time…)?
  • Could you attach a screenshot of the Audio Export Mixdown window?
  • Are you willing to share the project if possible (you can send me a link via Private Message if you don’t want to share it publically).

Thank you

Hi Martin, Sure

It happens when I export Audio tracks. I am not using the real-time export.
Cubase will export audio successfully for the first few times then maybe on the 5th or 6th time, it will give me the “File exists already” message on a file I have not yet exported and that’s when I know… the crash is about to happen. Then within a few seconds, it crashes and I have to restart Cubase.

Hi @AntonVorozhtsov , @Kuu ,

Do you see an unexpected “File exists already” dialog (even though you are using a unique name; or even exporting the project for the very 1st time) before Cubase crashes, by any chance?

Thank you

Exactly. This is the exact error it shows and whatever option you choose it crashes.

Hey Martin!
I use “always overwrite” option, but I can change it to manual and watch

Same here, any workaround ?

Same here! 13.0.10 Performing stereo export wav crashed cubase several times. Strange thing - it asks to overwrite file which is being created DURING the export…

Same here in Nuendo 13.

But it doesn’t show me the message that the file already exists.
It always happens at the very beginning of the export, before the progress window appears. It happens about 5-6 times a day.

Also, it doesn’t matter if the project is heavy with tons of effects and instruments or if the project has one small wav file with no FX on it.

Even MORE PRECISE description of a problem - that happens if You click wherever outside the Cubase window - folder, browser - no matter. As soon as U mess with something else on MAC, at least - it goes to that buggy state.

Hi,

Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.
