Cubase 13 - Input Sound From Guitar Sounds Chopped and Garbled

Hello all,

I am using Cubase 13 Pro on a Macbook Air M3 Sonoma 14.4.1. My sound interface is a UA Volt 2 that works as expected on other devices.

However, on my device, when connecting a guitar to the SI, and creating a new audio channel with correct configurations (studio setup/audio connections), the sound input is chopped and garbled. I checked the basic MacOS settings (privacy->sound), and everything seems to be configured correctly.

I’ve been experiencing this issue for over a week now and have been able to record guitar audio channels successfully in the past. This issue appeared last week.

I tried to fix the issue by following YouTube videos that cover the basics of input channels and some others that suggested running scripts on the MacBook’s TCC database (I can’t post a link here the title is - How to fix Not recording Cubase 13 # Nuendo 13 No Input in Cubase 2024 MACOS X - the script failed to run due to an incorrect number of input values) without success.

I could use some help here - what do I do next?

Thank you all in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Could you try to increase the Buffer Size, please?

Hello Martin,

Thank you. I am happy to be a part of this community.

Increasing the buffer size did not help. The sound is still chopped :frowning:

Tom

I uploaded a sample extracted from Cubase. See below. I hope it helps…

Hi,

Does it sound like this, if you Export Audio Mixdown and play the exported file in any Player, please?

Unfortunately, yes.

May seem like a stupid question but do you hear the guitar normally with the track armed and record monitor on before you start recording??

EDIT: Ignore me, confused two threads!
