Cubase 13 - L & R channels coming out the other way around, when Control Room is activated

Hi everybody,

Very puzzled,

I am exporting some stems, and something very weird happened.

The left and right channels are exported the wrong way around…

I deactivated the control room and all is back to normal.

Any ideas why this happens?

Cheers

Sounds like you’ve got your output monitor routing the wrong way round in the control room set up.

Huh.. any chance you can gimme some direction how to do this? I’m not the best with the CR…thanks so much.

Not directly in control room……in the audio connections window where you assign outs.

Check those are the right way around…..but not sure it will be that as stems are never rendered through control room.

Hi,
after you did a mixdown both with and without CR activated could you please reimport both tracks and check again if L/R are switched by direct comparison?
As @Grim said - CR should not have an effect on the mixdown so I’d be surprised if turning it on/off is the culprit here.

Good God, I have no idea how this happened, but Left was set to Right and vise versa in the control room connections…:person_facepalming:

Thanks so much for your help!

Just me being a muppet

Thank so much for your help!!

Haha, no worries!

Once, I accidently switched monitor cables at the back of my audiointerface. Although they are clearly marked as L/R I somehow managed to confuse L/R. I spent an hour checking every possible routing paths and VSTs until I finally realized that the culprit was right in front of me at the very end of the hardware chain. There was a lot of swearing going on that day…
