Cubase 13 + Melodyne ARA: Melodyne blobs remain out of sync after Undo

Hello,

I have encountered a reproducible synchronization issue between Cubase and Melodyne when using Melodyne as an ARA Extension.

Environment

  • Audio Host: Cubase 13.0.51
  • Product: Melodyne assistant 5.4.2.006
  • Operating System: Windows 11

Steps to reproduce

  1. Apply Melodyne to an audio event as an ARA Extension.
  2. Move the audio event in the Project Window.
  3. Confirm that the Melodyne blobs correctly follow the event.
  4. Press Ctrl+Z (Undo) to restore the event to its original position.

Actual result

The audio event returns to its original position in Cubase, but the Melodyne blobs remain at the moved position. As a result, the Melodyne editor is no longer synchronized with the actual playback.

The synchronization is only restored by moving the event again or by removing and reapplying the Melodyne ARA extension.

Troubleshooting performed

  • Switched between Track Edit Mode and Clip Edit Mode
  • Confirmed “Follow Selection in DAW” is enabled
  • Increased the audio buffer size to 1024 samples
  • Tested with very short audio events
  • Excluded the Melodyne cache directory from Microsoft Defender

None of these steps resolved the issue.

I contacted Celemony support regarding this behavior. They were able to reproduce the issue on Cubase 15 under macOS, which suggests that the problem is not specific to my system.

According to Celemony, they suspect the issue may be on the Cubase/Steinberg side and have already reported it internally. They also recommended that I report it here, as additional customer reports help give more weight to the issue.

Has anyone else experienced the same behavior?

If this is already a known issue on the Steinberg side, I would appreciate any information or recommended workflow until a fix becomes available.

Thank you.
