Everyone here (and in the other topic you started on this) has been generously attempting to help you but TBH I’m finding your responses intransigent and a waste of everybody’s time - I don’t really see much effort on your part to try things or supply any pertinent information.

You have been advised multiple times how to convert and what to install and yet you don’t seem to want to understand or you seem unwilling to try it. You also seem unwilling to share the specifications of your PC. I’ll continue to try to troubleshoot your issue but only if you are willing to actually try to convert the file, and if it doesn’t convert please present here very precise details of what you used to convert and what you actually did. And ditto for you sharing your PC specification.

If after doing this you still cannot see the video then the problem may well be that linked to the hardware acceleration issue suggested above by @Googly_Smythe

If you are unwilling to provide details or rigorously follow the advice suggested here then I think it’s fair to say you may continue banging your head against your personalised kind of brick wall. That would be a pity but I wish you luck in finding a solution to your issue elsewhere.

P.S. try rereading this topic from start to finish. You already have everything you need here to troubleshoot the issue. If there is a bug then you’d probably have to supply a shortened version of the video so that Steinberg could investigate further -and you’d certainly have to provide them with a detailed specification of your PC including the graphics hardware.

Ok, Hows this

OK, a small attempt at some de-escalation: What if you, @stingray, would upload a short video in the right format here and you, @andyp13, would download it and give it a test run on your PC? :slightly_smiling_face:

@ASM great suggestion but no time for that right now. Please go ahead and do the same yourself if you think it would help.

I have tried downloading a test video and the results were the same it shows the thumbnails but the playback is still black…
Iv tried most if not all of the suggestions but to no avail… The vids run fine on my MacBook using Cubase 13, but this PC is my main studio computer…never had this issue before…

This here is why I say it’s a hardware issue, not software, as it is in my case.
Whatever tweaks Steinberg have added, an option to turn them off should also be added.

Same I’m afraid…

Here’s a side by side comparison, C11 on the left, C13 on the right, the video @ASM uploaded.
(Reduced to 2560 x 720 from the original 5120 x 1440.)

Impressing…

This is from the vid i cant display

Addiction Live_Video_001.zip (3.8 MB)

Cubase 13.0.41, Windows 10, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (Adrenalin 24.7.1)

OK, well that’s helped cross a few things out.
Maybe I should need to invest in a new graphics card…any suggestion’s I have the Intel HD 4600 in this PC.

I’d hold off until version 14 comes out - maybe they’ll fix it.
Oh, and don’t get an AMD 7900 XTX!

I should imagine ver 14 will be a long way off yet…I cant really wait as I have quite a few video productions to do…

As we all know, hope dies last, but does anyone really believe that a new version will come with fewer bugs? :unamused:

In that case, I’d say start a new topic, ask the guys what works for them, give a budget, and make sure the card will fit into your PC case. I had to shift 2 hard drives and an M2 card around to fit my 7900.
