Cubase 13 pan bug (video)

When I reactivate a deactivated track it messes up my pan. Changing pan law doesn’t help either. I have to create a new audio track to get normal behaviour.

Hi,

I can reproduce this.

Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.

Thogh, you can still control the Pan in the Channel or in the MixConsole. And if you close and reopen the project, it becomes fixed.

Thank you I’ll wait for a fix.
Your work around doesn’t work for a UF8 :frowning:

Hi,

Do you mean a hardware controller?

Yes (mackie protocol I believe) the SSL UF8
I mean k could enable all tracks and reboot Cubase that might work but using the panner in the mixer obviously not.
no worries, just hope it gets fixed in the next update.

The video you posted clearly shows that this bug is independent of having a hardware controller, correct? I just want to confirm that so the plot isn’t lost during any discussion about controllers.

Hi,

Correct. But, the bug is in the Inspector only. You can still set the panner in the Channel or the MixConsole.

I have just tested to control the Panner from a hardware SSL UF8 (after disabling and enabling the Audio Track), and it works. So the graphics is wrong in the Inspector, but you can set the Panner on the hardware the very same way, as you can set it inthe Channel, or the MixConsole.

The only issue is the wrong visualization in the Inspector.

That was not my experience. That’s how I found the bug because I tried to pan something on the UF8 but it was locked in the center

Harry, I should have specified that I wanted you to answer the question because this thread is obviously about your own direct experience with the bug.

Thanks Martin, but it seems the OP has a difference of opinion — perhaps unique to his setup or hardware, but different nonetheless.

Hi,

On the video, which Harry provided is the exactly same result, I can see. He can move the Panner in the MixConsole. The hardware control is linked to the MixConsole. Hannry doesn’t show the Channel, but I’m sure, the result will be the same. The issue is in the Inspector’s GUI.

THere is more to it. In Cubase 13 if you write an automation for a Stereo Combined panner, only one panner is actually writing. The second panner is just standing still, and when you try to write just the second one, it rewrites the previous panner, not adding anything to the one you are touching

Hi,

Not really. When you use the Stereo Combined Panner, the Right panner is named Pan Left-Right2. This is the parameter, you have to automate.
