Cubase 13 Pro crashes when trying to use a different interface

So here is the procedure,

I completely rebuilt my studio MacBook Pro M1 Max the other day and installed ALL latest drivers and latest versions of all software so yes its all up to date… I did this rebuild to try and solve this issue but it has not resolved it…

I open cubase and choose my audio driver in the dialog that pops up… the first one I used was my RME Fireface UFX driver… and it goes in and it ran fine… happy days…

I then connected the laptop to my Steinberg UR24C… Opened Cubase…selected the Steinberg UR24C driver and it hangs… application not responding… I have to force quit Cubase… Then upon reopening it when the dialog comes up saying that cubase wasnt closed properly last time I have to tell it to delete the preferences and then it goes in… I select the UR24C driver and its all good runs find happy days…

I then close cubase… reopen it and when the dialog for what driver do I want to use comes up I choose my RME Fireface like before but BANG it hangs again… Application not responding… I have to force quit, reopen cubase, tell it to delete preferences then I choose the RME Driver and it works perfectly…

I have to reset up all my studio connections everytime I do this obviously and other preferences and its an absolute joke…

So once again I HAVE installed ALL latest versions of drivers and software…

this is a bug…

Has anyone had this problem and if so have you found a solution…

Hi,

Attach the *.ips file, please.

Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).

Btw, this thread seems to be similar a bit.

I have an issue with my thunderbolt dock and mac os with audio interfaces…

I have been pulling my hair out for months trying to resolve an issue where if I connect a different interface up to my system and try to open my DAW Cubase when selecting any new interface it locks up…

I have to force quit cubase and clear its preferences then I can open it with any of the interfaces…

I was blaming Cubase…

Until today…

I swapped out the thunderbolt dock with my other thunder bolt go dock and the problem is GONE…

I also bypass the docks completely and ZERO ISSUE…

I go back to the early generation thunderbolt dock and the problem returns…

The dock is the issue…

The ONLY thing I am plugging into the docks when testing is one of the audio interfaces…

The problem is 100% the OWC Dock
