I have reasonable short distance eye sight, yes I sometimes wear ‘subtle’ glasses to read print including any music software’s controls including Wavelab/pre-Cubase 13 versions, but Cubase 13 itself, as far as readability goes, is a downwards viewing step TOO far.
ALL texts in Cubase 13 are so small I end up with a optical headache, and there is NO way I am going to have to ‘upgrade’ my SUBTLE viewing glasses to have to COMPENSATE for Steinberg 13’s RIDICULOUSLY small texts.
I feel for those musos with eyesight worse than mine after faithfully purchasing Cubase 13, instead of trying the demo, trying to navigate around it - no doubt there are many.
The setting Preferences > General > Application Scaling allows most elements of the Cubase interface to be displayed larger (PC).
Sorry, wrong - been there, tried it, in all it’s settings - unless I missed something, the text clarity in i.e. the inspector column didn’t change one little bit.
I so wish I could be corrected, it’s unreal such important text would be reduced in it’s readable size/clarity - why and what for, I simply don’t know…
There seems to be something about Teutonic s/w development and ergonomics.
I’ve long-since maintained that Cubase and Halion - coupled to NI’s Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol - leave a lot to be desired in terms of usability, solely because of the user interface and poor colour schemes.
As I’ve aged, it’s only become worse.
Unfortunately, the hubris of the GUI designers has continued apace.
Compare and contrast with Arturia’s, Spectrasonics’ and Cherry Audio’s plugins - and UA’s Luna DAW - where feature count remains high yet the functionality is still readily accessible … without squinting.
