Cubase 13?

To back on topic, any sneaky insight or info?

Sure, October 11th.

However, I am only sneaky, not insightful.

Sorry, but this is BS. Cubase has a lot more features and options than Logic, which also can make it a bit more complex to use because of that.
Its also one of the well known key selling points of Logic to be easier and more streamlined. Thats also why Cubase often gets recommended for mixing/mastering work, while Logic often gets recommended for producing work.
Cubase includes a ton of stock plugins FOR FREE as well. As already told, the basic stuff is as good as anything out there and for everything else, there is a ton of free or paid good stuff available otherwhise. Logic might have more instruments (I never used them, but neither I did the Steinberg ones) and probably puts its focus on that and thats a nice to have, but the main purpose of a DAW is to have the features and options needed to record/edit/work on music.

Plus: Logic is Apple only and is also a propietary product of them. So you have to use an apple computer, which will be also more expensive comparatively to a windows PC with a similar performance. And on top of that it uses its own propietary plugin format AU, while a lot of awesome free stuff is on VST instead.

Good point, but it still remains glaringly obvious that Steinberg refuses to commit to development a new computer platform to subsidize Cubase.

The world is clearly tired of Mac vs PC. If you guys could do that perhaps Cubase might even be able to be sold for free at a profit.

Just spitballing here. Think about it?

Cubase has become soooo much better than it was in C7, C8, C9. Since the c10 things are improving, but I think that there is still a lot to be done in terms of performance. If you look at other DAWs, the whole interface is much smoother and more pleasant to use.

In terms of features and capabilities, Cubase has more than I will ever need.

Possibilities, the basic sound of the mixer would be nice
adapt and customize to the sound of analogue consoles. Optionally in a channel, which was easy to do with plugins, or more as a mixer-overlapping package, which was then already in the direction
Waves NLS or Slate VCC works.

As an electronics engineer, I’d like a really good emulation of the old Mackie Pule CR1604 or 8-Bus. I want the ability to send a kick drum through multiple channels and add a bit of distortion to each channel, and I want that analog touch that makes the sound so plastic. I don’t want to have to load 2-3 extra plugins individually for each sound, I want to save myself the work. Gladly this emulated console can cause extra costs. It just has to sound really authentic.

That would be the big hit for me and I would make a pilgrimage to Steinberg every year and pay homage to the decision-makers.

The name for this new system will be: Topaz !

Unfortunately, no. Wait! It’s not October 11th

Not really. One of many reasons: we do not have enough resources to develop, maintain and support such an endeavor. Back to the topic, please?

Ah, so I’ll have to reallocate funds from my Absolute 6 piggybank after all.

I’m excited for 13, I wonder what it will bring.

Oh I remember that one… Yamaha could also revive their CBX-D5 while they’re at it.

Steinberg never announces the real date. But if somebody were to guess the real date then Steinberg would deny it. So by denying Oct 11th to be the release date you actually confirmed it to be.
Using some Python logic here.

Well, that’s embarrassing. I should have put a winky face at the end,. It was a bad joke, apologies.

Logic has like 10 synths and samplers. If you don’t see that stuff, it’s cause you aren’t looking. You basically need Absolute (which I did) to get Cubase there.

Argument was far more effective before $599 M2 Mac Minis existed.

These days, a comparable PC (performance-wise) costs much more, so needing a Mac for it is really an ignorance detail i. The grand scheme of things. Ot only factors in if you need other windows-only software.
