Oh i didnt know that. But looking at my SB installer I assume it is loading some old VST2 files or they are old files on my hard drive i can remove. The retologue i am reinstalling as i write this. When i upgraded to 14 the software told me i have the software on my hard drive. i thought nothing of it and everything was ok. Obviously, it wasn’t. The biggest sound producer i have used uses nothing but vst2 and that is IK Multimedia. I will check their website shortly. I remember having this wonderful Theremin that the BBC release so many years ago. Then Steinberg started to get rid of the original .vst format over .vst2. My beloved Theremin never worked again. ![]()
OK at IK MultiMedia you can still download VST2 and VST3. I will remove the vst2 sounds. They must have had to do the installer because at some point you’d have to download the vst3 plugin and end up paying so many credits for it.
You appear to be right. My Apologies on that. the issue is that Retrologue was on my system since 2020 but as a VST2 ! I am reinstalling with newer versions and removing the VST2 versions manually because some don’t have an uninstaller.
I think when I installed some of my plugins i installed both the vst2 and vst3 when i only needed to instal the VST3. But in the back of my mind was a version of Cubase before it went 64 bit. The splash screen at the time said there were disadvantages of the 32bit and 64 bit and for some the 32 bit might be better for them. I think that was version 6. Glad I went 64bit. In the back of my mind I must thought the same logic applied both plugins.
Here is my most recent Blacklist and it is looking a lot more healthier. It seems that the providers have done their work to add vst3 plugins where there wasn’t one.
The only one I seem to have a problem with is the Auburn Pan-management plugin as a I just reinstalled it and it is picking up the uninstaller as a plugin!
The other two points will have to wait till tomorrow because o regressed back to 14.0.20 because i know that version works.

David
Thor-I always submit attachments to any issues I am having with the latest update and the loss of my HOFA EQ and reverb plug-ins that are not seen on my GUI lower screen is being looked at at HOFA in Germany who I am in touch with this morning.
we must always try to share and help each other and dismiss any anger because that gets you nowhere
