Cubase 14 & 15 crashes

Hello everyone.
I’m desperate, I hope someone can help me solve the problem.

Namely, I’m currently working on two projects that I need to finish relatively quickly, but Cubase crashes randomly about every ten minutes. I know it’s not a software problem, but I hope the CrashDumps files can give me an answer. I don’t know who browses the forum and whether it’s possible for someone to do it for me, but I’ll attach two files here - one from Cubase 14 and one from 15.

I’ve updated all the sample libraries, Cubase is updated, the graphics card is on the latest drivers.

The crash manifests itself in such a way that the screen generally goes black with various colorful lines, and the computer just restarts without any problems. So, it’s not just Cubase that crashes, but it only happens when I’m using Cubase. There’s no specific moment when it happens, it could be during playback, opening an instrument, deleting a midi event, anything… I haven’t noticed any pattern.

Windows 11 Pro
Version 25H2
Intel i7-9700K
64GB of RAM
Radeon RX 5500 XT (4 GB)

Cubase 14.0.41 64bit 2026.7.11 16.13.53.791-freezedump.dmp (1.2 MB)

Cubase 15.0.30 64bit 2026.7.11 11.49.52.756-freezedump.dmp (3.4 MB)

Looks like Kontakt is freezing Cubase. In the first one, it’s Kontakt 7, in the second it’s Kontakt 8.

I’m not sure what the remedy is for that, but the above may give you enough info to search for a solution.

Thanks a lot for the answer. Yes, I really don’t know what to do, because almost all instances are Kontakt.

Can you please see what the problem is with this?

Cubase 15.0.30 64bit2026.6.23 19.40.04.013.dmp (3.9 MB)

Thank you very much Pete, I appreciate you taking the time to check the files for me. I need to see what’s going on with that.

Just one more question, sorry to bother you.
So, by that logic, is Kontakt/instrument that’s loaded definitely causing the problem? Could something else be causing Kontakt to just be a side effect of the problem?

While I was looking for possible causes today, I read somewhere that it could be the graphics card because of the way the screen goes black and the computer restarts. Could something like that be causing problems in Kontakt, making it appear to be the ultimate cause of the problem?

Yes, it could be. If you search around here, others have suggested that the UI library that Kontakt uses (Qt) can be the root cause with some video drivers.

I don’t use a Radeon, but if they have the equivalent of NVIDIA’s “Studio” drivers (vs the usual game-optimized drivers which aggressively focus on FPS), you may want to give that a go.

Kontakt 8 was recently updated with a hotfix update (minor). Go to your NKS and see if you’re updated.

I have already updated to the latest version of Kontakt, both versions 7 and 8.
