Hi! My Cubase projects keep on crashing and this started when I upgraded to Cubase 14 and now 15 (in the hopes it would have been solved)
I have now narrowed my issue down to the following and absolute minimum to have Cubase 14 and 15 crash when re-opening a saved project:
- start Cubase
- create an empty project
- save the empty project
- close Cubase
- start Cubase
- open the saved empty project without issues (no crash even when I wait or press play and stop)
- I add an audio track and use the default “Stereo ln” settings which adds Mic1&2 of my AXR4U as inputs of this new and only track
- I save the project
- close Cubase
- start Cubase
- open that saved project that now just holds one empty audio.
- Cubase shows the project for half a second and
- crash / Cubase unexpectedly quits
Cubase 15-2025-11-19-165358.ips (167.5 KB)
Cubase 15-2025-11-19-164950.ips (160.7 KB)
These are just two of the numerous crash log files.
Please let me know if there is anything left to try, I narrowed my issue down to this thus far and hope it is not a AXR4 driver issue, because I noticed that with later AXR4U driver updates from yamaha only support Apple silicon and not x64. and I am working on an 2017 Apple iMac Pro, which is still using an intel chip for CPU ….
Thank you
NB: When I select internal audio as audio driver, all seems stable. This is the way I get into older projects to have access to them again, but of course I lose all of my audio interfaces this way and the sound no longer comes from my studio speakers but from the internal speakers in the iMac….
