Cubase 14: Auto-select the next part/event - how to deactivate?

Hi!

When I’m working on midi on an instrument track with multiple events, Cubase seems to auto-select the next part/event (jumping to the next event) on the same track. Is there a setting to turn this off?

Whenever I edit midi. Like if I erase a part or cut or something. I’m sure it is there for a purpose, but I would like to have an option, that cursor just stays put after an edit.

Hi,

This is by design. If you Split an Event/Part, the right (2nd) one becomes selected automatically. If you delete an Event/Part, the next one ecomes selcted automatically.

As far as I know, there is no setting for this.

Oh I see. In some cases the next event might be far away, so there is some scrolling to come back, which seem inconvenient. Thank you for your input!
