Is there a set of Cubase 14 notes for Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 installation? Plenty of VEP 7 setup info for previous Cubase versions however while principals are probably the same the Cubase 14 UI has sufficiently changed such that we need to review how the mapping to VEP 7 should work. Thanks

5 posts were split to a new topic: Remove the function of removing the plug-in from the insert

Is there any chance to get upgrade from 13 to 14?Website became so useless - only Free trial avaliable.

On the Website is a Button to buy Cubase, right next to the trial button. When you click on it you can choose the version you want to Update.

Cannot use Paypal in 4 for the update from Cubase 13.

Says my address is wrong.
Have used Paypal before like this.

P.S. Seems a problem on Paypalā€™s side.
Will have to wait sigh.

Leaving Cubase is something Iā€™ve pondered for some time. I used the early versions I. The 1990s to prepare my manuscripts for my school ensembles having moved over from the excellent and user friendly Atari notator. I stopped using Cubase when I moved into S E.N. where funding struggled to make use of Music software. In 2013 I retired and bought myself Cubase but the changes were so advanced I struggled to achieve anything.
Manuscripts never looked right and lacked the quality of quantisation in the earlier editions. They had an int button that once ticked made everything right but canā€™t find anything that does that now. I bought Dorico which is equally strange compared with Sibelius. I persevered paying Ā£80 a time to upgrade but have made little progress. Iā€™ve now read that Cubase 14 has a better score editor but I didnā€™t upgrade to 13 so they now want Ā£165 after only 18 months of Cubase 12.
All I want to do is play in from a keyboard and get an accurate manuscript from what Iā€™ve played with software that interpretes my human inaccuracies into a logical manuscript like the Atari and early Cubase used to do back in the day. If Cubase
fana tics can convince me that that process is user friendly and that it is worth Another Ā£165 to achieve that I might consider it for one last time. Alternatively there must be some DAWs that could do that so any help would be appreciated preferably with a 30 day trial.
Multitrack recording is not a big issue as I use a Zoom 24 which is user friendly and has everything on board that I need.
I just feel Steinberg have me over the proverbial barrel at the moment with demands for more money with inflated prices if you donā€™t renew every time.

Thanks for the reply.

I see that there are many inconveniences for those who use music notation.

I donā€™t use music sheets, so I donā€™t feel itā€™s inconvenient.
But as for the quantize problem, it seems to be there all the time.
(Iā€™ve been using it since Cubase 8)
I feel that these minor bugs have been neglected for a long time.

Itā€™s true that they require expensive updates every time, butā€¦
Steinberg has a business to run, so I guess there are some things that canā€™t be helped.

My personal opinion is that I would be willing to pay for a full annual subscription if these minor bugs were addressed on a regular basis.

I would be happy to pay for a full annual subscription, provided that the bugs pointed out by users are addressed.
(Iā€™d be willing to pay for maintenance updates at least 3-4 times a year.)

Good points. I used a subscription model for my films and am quite happy to do that as I get constant updates and regular new features and would be happy to pay that if was reasonably priced and if course it would help them have regular profits rather than people looking elsewhere. I suppose the manuscript side of things gets neglected due to supply and demand. I only need them for posterity as I have arranged and composed Music over the years and itā€™s useful for those who read as opposed to the play by ear and there should be opportunities for everyone whatever way you get into Music. Thanks for your response.
