Hi everyone,
Just made the jump from Cubase 12 to 14 (already paid the upgrade but didn’t have time to do it…). So the title says it all.
FWIW I’m on Win10, did a clean reinstall just to be sure but still the same : Upon launch, the launcher does it thing but when it indicates “initializing : ARA service scanning plugins…” it crashes.
Attached is the dmp file, I’d be grateful if someone could check it out !
I’m suspecting it might be a third party plugin, and I’m testing each one of them as we speak. In the meantime, any help is appreciated
Cubase 14.0.41 64bit2026.2.11 20.15.08.630.dmp (1.3 MB)
The crash is in a Windows system library “kernel32.dll”, it crashes independently of Cubase. So it looks like there is some maybe old plugin that takes Cubase down while it tries to load.
You wrote you did a clean install of Windows, do you have the latest updates for your release installed as well?
Hey, thanks for the quick reply !
Yes Cubase is up to date, and to my knowledge my plugins as well (those I’m using the most anyway). This is going to be tedious I wonder if there’s anyway to pinpoint the culprit…
thanks again !
Guys !
Windows users this might interest you.
If ever you get a similar error to mine but don’t know precisely which process is at fault then try this :
- Recreate the crash (must be the latest action you did on your system)
- Open up “Computer Management” : Open Windows Explorer → Right Click on “This PC” then “Manage”.
- Left panel, open “Event Viewer” → Then “Windows Logs” → “Application”
- Center Panel will show a list. Scroll until you find a red error, click on it and normally you should have info on the crash !
In my case, the culprit was AutoAlignPost.vst3. Uninstalled it and now everything is smooth !
Hope this helps other users
