Just purchased the upgrade, as I was using 12 Elements. It was working fine, but now that I try to launch the DAW, I’m getting the message “Skin Not Found,” I press Ok, then I get another message “Could Not Load GUI Resources” and Cubase does not open. I would appreciate someone’s help with this matter.
BTW, I use a Dell G5 computer - Windows 11 (64-bit), 32 GB of RAM & 2 TB of Memory.
Hi,
Try to reinstall your Cubase, please.
Oh my, I had already started to install some plugins I had in 12 Elements. OK, I’ll start deleting first the plugins, then delete and reinstall 14 Elements again. Thank you for your response.
Hi,
You don’t have to delete the plug-ins and you don’t have to install them. All plug-ins, which are available in Cubase 12 are also available in Cubase 14

Ok, I tried reinstalling Cubase 14 as you suggested, but now I’ve ran into another problem. The first time I installed it, I was actually online, so I pressed Activate. However, this time when I reinstalled it, I’m never online, when creating music, so I followed the instructions to Generate a License File. I first Requested the License File step and saved it onto a USB stick. I then, connected online, launched the Activation Manager, logged into my account, pressed Generate License File, but I ended up receiving a message (Pic attached). Could I be getting this error message because it’s actually the same PC I used with Cubase 12 Elements? I just remembered that I also had created an Offline License File for 12 Elements. Would appreciate your response.
Hi,
How does it look like in the Activation Manager, in the licenses list, please?
Hi Martin, removed picture of my Activation Manager since I was finally able to activate it offline.
Hi Martin, nevermind, I finally figured it out how to activate Cubase 14 Elements. I had forgotten that I actually needed 2 computers on hand. One with online connection & the other without. Followed the video at Steinberg, and now Cubase 14 Elements is installed, and activated offline. Thank you anyway for your assistance.
