Cubase 14 Freezes with Polybrute Connect

I’ve recently bought an Arturia Polybrute 12 which uses as vsti plugin “Polybrute Connect” to connect the synth to a daw. It works flawlessly in standalone mode and in Bitwig and Reaper but, when I open it in Cubase, Cubase lags whereby any keypress or mouse click takes 10 to 20 seconds to respond and the Polybrute Connect plugin will not connect with the Polybrute 12.
I have been on to Arturia for three weeks about this and still no solution - they say it is working for them in Cubase. I have done a repair install of Windows 11, uninstalled and reinstalled Cubase and everything seems correctly set up in the Midi Port Setup window.

I’m slightly loosing my mind and am wondering if anyone else is using a Polybrute 12 with Polybrute Connect in Cubase and has it working or have you had this issue?
Any solutions are very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Alan

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Could you verify on the MIDI Monitor when (and if) the MIDI data goes out?

Hi Martin and thanks for the welcome.

Sorry, but I am not sure where the MIDI Monitor is?
That said, I’ve discovered that if I untick the Polybrute VST Output in MIDI Port Setup and then tick it again, then the Polybrute Connect loads and works as it should.
This needs to be done each time Cubase is run.
I had a similar issue over the summer with an Arturia Keylab Essentials where the script had to be manually loaded each time Cubase was run. Arturia said at the time it was an issue with Cubase…. at least I have a workaround for now - as for this “bug”, I’m not sure if it is a Cubase or an Arturia issue.

Hi,

Do you have the latest Cubase 14.0.40 installed, please?

Yes, I do

UPDATE.

For anyone interested, Arturia have finally conceeded that there is a bug in the Polybrute 12 firmware that stops it connecting with Cubase properly and the bug shall be fixed in the next firmware update.
