Cubase 14 Pro Not Detecting rtpMIDI Ports on Windows 11 (After Latest Update)

Hi everyone,
I ran into a serious issue during a live show and I’m hoping someone here can help or point me in the right direction.

When I launched Cubase 14 Pro on Windows 11 (latest update), the software suddenly stopped detecting all my rtpMIDI ports.
The rtpMIDI connection between my PC and external devices works perfectly at system level, but Cubase is the only application that doesn’t see the ports anymore.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled rtpMIDI

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled Bonjour

  • Rebooted multiple times

  • Verified that the rtpMIDI sessions are active and working outside Cubase

Unfortunately, Cubase 14 Pro still doesn’t list any of the rtpMIDI ports in the MIDI Port Setup.

This caused a major problem during a live performance, so I really need to understand what’s going on and how to fix it.

Has anyone experienced this issue with Cubase 14 on Windows 11?
Is there a known workaround or something specific that needs to be reset inside Cubase?

I really want to avoid resetting all my other MIDI device configurations, since my setup is quite complex and everything else is working correctly. I’m looking for a solution that restores rtpMIDI visibility in Cubase 14 Pro without having to rebuild my entire MIDI configuration from scratch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, thanks — I just solved it a moment ago. During the livestream I had done it from CMD, but I forgot to run it as Administrator. Thanks again!

On our Discord server, we have a preview of the fix for this which will be going into Windows at the end of April. You can install it now to avoid the issues.

The updated KSA transport addresses loopMIDI, rtpMIDI, loopBE, and other dynamic port incompatibilities.

Thanks for the heads‑up! For now I prefer not to install the preview, since I don’t want to test anything on a PC I use for live shows. I’ll keep an eye on future updates.
