Cubase 14 pro stuttering, dropouts etc

Since last week my setup does not work anymore
I run an Macbook air m3 16gb
my interface is a UR816C and my DAW controller is a faderport with a footswitch.

I have stuttering, dropouts, and complete stops
Im working on a project with one midi track and about 15 audio tracks.
the pluging I use are Amplitube and groove agent.

I have the highest buffersize possible,

What is the problem?
I’m really starting to get annoyed and dissapointed.

please help@

It turns out, the sample rate, and maybe the bit depth was the problem.
I changed it from the highest settings to 48.000kHz and 32Bit it works fine now, but not as I obviously find ideal.
I only wish I found that out before I bought Presonus Studio one as an backup DAW.
oh well
Hope this helps

Hi. I recently ran on Cubase Pro 14 my small project that I created on Cubase Pro 13, where it worked without the slightest problem. Unfortunately on version 14, it works very poorly, the Peak indicator jumps like crazy and lights up red, when trying to open one of the plug-ins is the same. On Cubase 13 there is nothing like this… I don’t understand why this is happening…

Are you using VST2 plugins? C14 does not willingly support them anymore.

Im going to try and replicate by creating a large track count project

What are the settings samplerate, and bit depth wise compared to previously?
I think this might be the problem.

Hi. I haven’t checked these settings but after the latest Cubase 14 update, it’s much better :+1:t2: The same project now works without problems.

I’m having this problem now for the past couple of weeks. I have wasted time on wrestling with technical problems, it should have spent on music production.

It’s my bedroom PC where I’m creating new ideas. I’m on Windows 10 x64, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU, 32Gb RAM, Behringer UMC22 audio interface. I also have an internal Sound Blaster Audigy FX, and honestly, it worked better! I’m even considering going back to it and just pack the audio interface back into its box… It just doesn’t work as it’s supposed to. The same with Presonus Audiobox USB 96 which I previously tried. The sound just starts to stutter and then cuts off and then it becomes completely silenced. I tried all the available drivers incl. ASIO4ALL which I personally much dislike and would never use as long as I have any choice.

I tried different buffer sizes and ASIO Guard levels. The crazy part is, these ASIO drivers should work fine with a 512 latency, but this stuttering and cutting off happens even if I push the latency to 100+ ms! This makes it pointless to have an audio interface, I could just go back to the internal Sound Blaster, at least it works for music production, as weird as it may sound (its actual sound quality is plenty fine, lol).

The audio performance monitor is peaking all the time for no reason, and it’s often going to red even when idle, not playing!

I checked the CPU load, it’s quite low, yet the sound keeps stuttering and cutting off. There are no CPU spikes to 100%. I also tested with LatencyMon during this broken playback, and it was all green, saying that my PC is able to run real-time audio fine.
