I’m having a problem with 14 Pro and 15 Pro. After updating several older Native Instruments plugins, Cubase scans VST files endlessly. When I run Cubase in a different mode, it starts, detects VST2 plugins instantly, but VST3 is only about 10%. When I run scan (studio-VST Plug-in Manager), it scans endlessly again. I’ve already contacted Steinberg, but I don’t think they’ll help. It’s probably a VST3 plugin, but how can I find which plugin is interfering?
You don’t say what your operating system is but search for a file called vstscannermaster.log. It may give you a clue as to where the scan process hung while initialising plugins.
