I am experiencing some delay with sampler tracks when I playback my project on bar 1, especially when the track is selected. In current screenshot the 808 lags behind the kick even though first note is the same (this has nothing to do with sample start time) . If I select the kick, the same thing happens. I don’t experience this in cubase 14.0.10 and previous versions.
I have switched between a number of asio drivers and settings, problem still persists. Since cycle region is on the playback is fine when it returns back to bar 1. I notice the delay on stop and play.
Hi,
In Cubase it’s generally recommend to start the song at bar 2 or 3.
If you are not going to start on bar 1 as Martin suggests, then start on bar 5 or 9, and leave the empty bars on a 4/4 time signature.
i turned off asio guard and its gone, what’s the essense of asio guard?
If you still want to start on bar one, change the project start time to a negative value. I usually have mine set to -2, and start on zero. I also set my renders to before and after the actual music so that all MIDI lines up correctly.
ASIO Guard processes the audio of all the tracks, that are not activated to have a live input*, a bit earlier. It is effectively an extra buffer for everything that doesn’t require lowest latencies.
This shoud lead to a higher count of tracks and plugins being useable in a project.
*) live input is done by arming a track for recording or by monitoring its input
