There is a little bug that I noticed, a feature that worked fine in the previous version I worked on (Cubase Pro 12)
I have a separate keyboard shortcut for “Restart from last stop position”, as I have been using this function extensively for years.
However, when doing this on Cubase 15.0.20 while working inside a loop, the function doesn’t work well. => The “last stop position” just changes randomly after a while.
So at 20-21 second, the key that I pressed is exactly the shortcut for the “restart from last stop position”.
What happens is that, once the loop replays, pressing that shortcut does not restart from last stop position, but it pauses the playback very briefly (only during the time the shortcut is pressed), and subsequently it sets that new stop position at the moment I pressed the shortcut.
Which is a behavior that didn’t happen in Cubase Pro 12.
I can also not see any point in purposefully implementing this feature, since pressing the “restart from last stop position”-shortcut during playback is going to be mostly off-grid, so not a precise position that I designated.
It is also not fulfilling the purpose of “restart from last stop position”, since it pauses the playback the first time the loop replays, instead of doing what the function is supposed to do, namely “restarting”.
Wait, I got the commands wrong. I recall having run into your issue already with Cubase 12. I fixed it for me by creating this macro:
The function that you use gets messed up after a cycle jump (ie. the song cursor jumped from the right locator to the left one). But the shown commands don’t have that issue.
If you don’t want to stop playback you would just use the second command.
Thanks for your reply. I was sure this didn’t happen in Cubase 12, but maybe I was mistaken. I will check if I can recreate your macro commands. Thanks !
